KAREN BERTRAND Vice President contact Karen Bertrand Karen Bertrand joins BioQuest from Highland Partners (acquired by Heidrick & Struggles in late 2006) where she was a Consultant since 2003 following ten years of retained search experience as a sole proprietor focused in biotechnology. She successfully recruits senior management teams including CEOs in both established and emerging companies. Karen has completed searches for senior executives in general management, discovery and clinical research, product development and a variety of commercial positions. She has executed key assignments in a range of life science companies including drug delivery, medical device, therapeutic, and molecular diagnostic companies. Her particular interest is in companies with novel breakthrough technologies. Prior to entering executive search, Karen developed an in-depth understanding of emerging companies and the issues they face through five years of research and administrative work in venture capital, initially with a major bank and later with a private equity fund. Karen holds a BA degree from the University of California at Davis as well as Masters degrees from the Universite de Paris-Sorbonne and University of Cincinnati.
